VELOUR
Description:
Velour is the most commonly used fabric for theater drape. It is available in a variety weights, 13oz, 16oz, 21oz, 25oz, and 35oz (per linear yard). To some degree, the heavier weights can be used to absorb sound. Velour is napped, so it will appear as one color nap down, and another nap up, so keep in mind that they must run in the same direction to match on stage. Nap down will collect less dust.
If all you require is material, make sure you order enough fabric to complete the job the first time. Velour is dye lot sensitive and additional orders for the same fabric may be from different dye lots which might be noticeably different. The also applies to Black.
